The South Sudan 4′ x 6′ indoor nylon flag is made with high-quality materials, perfect for display in any indoor setting. It features a pole sleeve and fringe for added elegance and durability. This beautiful flag is an excellent way to showcase your heritage or add a touch of international flair to your home decor.
Flag Design and Symbolism
The South Sudan flag bears striking similarities with both the flags of Sudan (from which Southern Sudan seceded in 2011), and Kenya. It shares the black, white, red, and green colors of the Sudanese flag (though different symbolism is given to the colors), in addition to having a chevron along the hoist. The horizontal black, white, red, and green bands of the flag share the same design as the Kenyan flag, and the Pan-African symbolism thereof.
The Southern Sudanese government also specifies that the colors of the flag are to represent the South Sudanese people (black), peace (white), the blood shed for freedom (red), the land (green), and the waters of the Nile (blue – appearing in the chevron). The gold star, the Star of Bethlehem, represents unity of the states of South Sudan.
